Our optometrists and staff at Eye to Eye Optometry Clinic enjoy building relationships with patients of all ages. We want our patients to feel they can come to us for exceptional eyewear and state-of-the-art eyecare, but not have to deal with the pretense or arrogance that often goes along with high-end purchases. Although some patients are as excited about eyes and eyewear as we are, we know many people are intimidated by the whole thing. They are uncertain what to expect in their eye exams, they don’t know what glasses look good on them, and they are confused about their lens options. Well, that’s what we are here for, and we want to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for you, maybe even a little bit fun!
We have provided information throughout this website that we hope you will find useful. Should you ever have any more questions about your eyecare, a member of our courteous, knowledgeable staff would be happy to speak with you!
Dr. Leanne Kile was born and raised in southwest Edmonton. She graduated with Honours from Concordia High School in 1989. With a desire to work with people and an interest in medicine, but also an aptitude for math and physics, the young graduate recognized optometry as a profession which combined both her interests and strengths. Dr. Kile took her undergraduate courses at Red Deer College, then the University of Alberta, and then proceeded to the University of Waterloo, where she obtained her Doctor of Optometry Degree in 1998.
Dr. Kile practiced for two years in Wainwright, Alberta. In 2000, she moved to a multi-site practice in Ponoka/Lacombe/Hanna/Coronation. Dr. Kile enjoyed the sense of community in these small towns, but she always felt a pull to be closer to her family. She returned to Edmonton in 2002.
In August 2006, Dr. Kile opened Eye to Eye Optometry Clinic, with the goal of providing personable, professional eyecare and “stand-out-in-a-crowd” eyewear. She chose to locate Eye To Eye Optometry Clinic at Crestwood Centre due to the close-knit, neighbourly feel of the Crestwood community, and because of the boutique-style shops, which aligned with Dr. Kile's goal of bringing in unique, high-quality eyewear.
Dr. Kile has been involved in eyecare missions, the Kiwanis Club, Toastmasters, Sweet Adelines and numerous church committees/volunteer positions. In the past few years, she has been more focused on opening Eye to Eye and starting a family. Within six months of opening Eye To Eye, Dr. Kile and her husband, Phil, were blessed with the birth of a beautiful baby girl, and in February 2011, they were delighted by the birth of their second daughter.
Dr. Kile enjoys the balance of raising a beautiful young family and practicing in a profession she loves. She sees patients part-time, including some evenings and Saturdays for the convenience of her patients.
Dr. Larson started at Eye to Eye in May of 2017 after filling in for some holiday time and really enjoying the atmosphere in the practice. He is originally from Daysland, near Camrose, Alberta. He needed his first pair of glasses in 5th grade and since then his interest in sight and vision correction continued to grow, leading him to want a career as an Optometrist. He graduated with Honours from Daysland High School. He completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Alberta in 2010. He then attended Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry and graduated in 2014 with induction into the Optometric Honor Society Beta Sigma Kappa.
During his final year of rotations, he saw a wide variety of optometry specialties. He spent one rotation in Fort Collins, Colorado, at a pediatric and vision therapy practice, one in San Clemente, California, at an OD/MD surgical site specializing in geriatrics and cosmetic surgery, one in Glendale, Arizona, at a geriatric and primary care private practice and finally one in Jacksonville, Florida, at a specialty anterior segment disease practice with an emphasis on corneal and glaucoma surgery. He particularly enjoys treating and managing dry eye as it affects so many people.
Dr. Larson seized an opportunity to run and manage a single doctor busy practice in Lloydminster upon graduation. He greatly enjoyed the busy pace and varied medical and vision focused exams in a rural setting. After working there for two years he bought into the practice but decided to move closer to family in Edmonton where he would like to spend the rest of his career. He still travels back to Lloydminster weekly to see patients and check in with his staff and associate but really enjoys being able to practice Optometry in Edmonton at Eye to Eye. He enjoys the state of the art technology, wonderful and knowledgeable staff, and great location in the city.
He is always interested in learning something new. He enjoys spending time outdoors in the summer hiking, biking, camping and boating. In the winter, he enjoys watching and playing hockey, and spending time with family and friends. He really enjoys interacting with patients to find out how to best take care of their vision and ocular health needs.
