DR. LEANNE KILE

Dr. Kile was born and raised in southwest Edmonton. She graduated with Honors from Concordia High School in 1989. With a desire to work with people, and an interest in medicine, but also an aptitude for math and physics, the young graduate recognized optometry as a profession which combined both her interests and strengths.

Dr. Kile took her undergraduate courses at Red Deer College, then the University of Alberta, and then proceeded to the University of Waterloo where she obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1998.

Dr. Kile practiced for 2 years in Wainwright, Alberta. In 2000, she moved to a multi-site practice in Ponoka/Lacombe/Hanna/Coronation. Dr. Kile enjoyed the sense of community in these small towns, but she always felt a pull to be closer to her family.  She returned to Edmonton in 2002.

In August 2006, Dr. Kile opened Eye to Eye Optometry Clinic, with the goal of providing personable, professional eyecare and “stand-out-in-a-crowd” eyewear. She chose to locate Eye To Eye at Crestwood Centre due to the close-knit, neighborly feel of Crestwood Community, and because of the boutique-style shops, which aligned with Dr. Kile's goal of bringing in unique, high quality eyewear.

Dr. Kile has been involved in eyecare missions, the Kiwanis club, Toastmasters, Sweet Adelines and numerous church committees/volunteer positions. In the past few years, she has been more focused on opening Eye to Eye, and starting a family. Within six months of opening Eye To Eye, Dr. Kile and her husband, Phil, were blessed with the birth of a beautiful baby girl, and in February 2011 they were delighted by the birth of their second daughter.

Dr. Kile enjoys the balance of raising a beautiful young family and practicing in a profession she loves.  She sees patients part-time, including some evenings and Saturdays for the convenience of her patients.
